Miami Fishing Charters Aboard Nomad
Specializing in Offshore Light Tackle Fishing Charters

Capt. Orlando Muniz would like to welcome you to Nomad Fishing Charters. Nomad Fishing Charters specializes in offshore and near shore light tackle sport fishing charters in the Miami, Miami Beach and Key Biscayne metropolitan area. Here in South Florida a myriad of angling opportunities exist, including trolling, kite fishing, live bait, wreck and bottom fishing, jigging, and even fly fishing. The style of fishing is normally dictated by season and weather conditions, targeted species include but are not limited to sailfish, tarpon, dolphin (dorado, mahi), kingfish, mutton snapper and grouper. Lets not forget that while targeting certain species, we encounter amber jack, cobia, shark, mangrove snapper, yellowtail, wahoo and tuna just to name a few.

Capt. Orlando has been living in the Miami area for more than 35 years and has spent countless days over the past 25 years pursuing some of the most sought after gamefish Miami and Key Biscayne and the coastal waters of South Florida. South Florida offers some of the finest inshore and offshore light tackle sport fishing Miami has to offer.

The ultimate goal on every trip is to provide our anglers with a great experience while treating everyone with respect regardless of their experience or skill level. Capt. Orlando has a teaching degree which makes him very patient when working with children or inexperienced anglers. Capt. Orlando is also been a contributing author for several fishing publications and web sites .More importantly, he really enjoys passing on his knowledge to others, this can be seen in the many articles he has written for various angling magazines.

NOMAD is a custom built 28' Whitewater open fisherman powered by twin 200 HP Yamaha outboards. Whitewater boats have an excellent reputation for providing an excellent ride and are built with quality in mind. The boat is rigged Key West style with light tackle fishing in mind. Another important aspect of this boat is that it will give me added speed, comfort, and range for those out of the way fish. Twin 200 HP Yamaha outboards provide more than enough power even when fully loaded. Now, I can easily carry over twenty fishing rods and more than enough bait for a long day of fishing. The boat is equipped with "top of the line" electronics as well as all of the required Coast Guard equipment. A huge coffin box will hold plenty of ice to insure that your catch stays fresh. Another smaller cooler will keep all of your drinks and food cold for the day.
We fish only quality Shimano, Daiwa and Shakespeare rods and reels ranging from spinning tackle in the 12# - 20# range and conventional gear from 20# - 50# depending on what the season and species we are targeting. Have a favourite rod and reel, bring it along Capt Orlando will gladly rig it for you.

My ultimate goal is to provide clients with a memory of a lifetime. I know that everyone comes aboard with a different set of goals in mind. Some anglers just want to kick back and leave everything to the captain, while others prefer a more hands on approach. Those wanting to learn will not be disappointed because with a degree and background in education patience is always abundant aboard the NOMAD. During each outing I will try to teach you as much as possible about the area, baits, techniques, and fish that we will encounter. Every trip will be tailored to meet your individual needs. Everyone is welcomed from novice anglers and children to the highly experienced. If you have any questions please email me and I will gladly answer them. Here is what some of our anglers have to say!!!

Orlando,

Below is a picture of my first sailfish I caught with you this past Saturday (AWESOME!!) and an invitation to our CCA Florida Dade banquet and auction. If you have any more questions about the banquet or about the Coastal Conservation Association, don’t hesitate to ask! Thanks again for an awesome experience!

Orlando

We made it home and have worked our tails off since then. I can't tell you how appreciative we are of your hospitality and your effort of getting us into and keeping us into fish. We have been talking about how great of a trip it was and how generous you were in time and allowing us to assist with tackle etc. We have fished around many many places and you are an extremely talented fisherman. We will absolutely continue our fishing relationship with you and do many trips each year. We look forward to our next trip. Pictures will follow later tonight......Feel free to forward my email and cell to give you a great reference.

Thanks for everything,
Greg – Toledo, OH

  Hi Orlando,

Thank you for the best fishing day we have ever had. We have gone on charter fishing trips twice before and this was by far the best trip we have had! No other boats seemed to be catching anything and your skill still put us on fish. We caught around 10 fish including two sailfish with one measuring 89"! My family will never forget this day. You are truly the best charter captain I have ever fished with and my family enjoyed spending time with you!

I have attached some of the photos of this trip. I am also setting up a shutterfly account that I will send you the link to. Feel free to add any to you web site.

Thanks again,
John H.

Orlando,

I tried to send a short video of landing the sail fish, but it was too large to go through. If I can zip it or send part, I will tomorrow.

Thanks for everything. It was well worth every penny, and hope to do it again.
